Incense Paper
Papier d’ Armenie natural incense is made from the dried resin of the Styrax Benzoin tree, imprinted into paper. Auguste Ponsot discovered the gorgeous scent of Benzoin during a trip to Armenia in 1885, where they burned the resin to disinfect and refresh their homes. Upon returning to France, he began the production of this very product.
Tear a strip from the booklet, fold it like accordion and place the paper on its side on a fire-resistant surface. Light it and quickly blow out so that the paper burns slowly.
The pages can also be tucked as single sheets into drawers, books, and linens to add a delicate scent.
Choose from:
Tradition is the original scent, featuring the powdery soft, vanilla-like sweetness of styrax benzoin resin.
Armenie is a reformulation of the original Papier by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. The scent is a bit deeper with drier hints of myrrh and balsam wood.
Rose is another reformulation by Kurkdjian. With roses from Iran and Turkey, it has a mellow, candy-like sweetness.
Handmade using traditional methods in the Paris suburb of Montrouge since 1885.
Each booklet includes 36 strips.
